Cares Act Assistance

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES ACT) is intended to address economic disruption as a result of COVID-19 Pandemic.

CARES ACT Assistance will provide emergency financial assistance for individuals and families in Manatee County. As these funds are received, application information will be posted. Please continue to monitor this website for further information.

Energy Assistance (LIHEAP)

Family Sitting with CounselorLIHEAP services are provided to assist families, particularly those with the lowest incomes that pay a high proportion of their household income for home energy, meet their immediate home energy needs.

This program is available to individuals living in Hardee and Manatee counties.

Application Process

  1. Pick your appointment time from the available slots on the calendar. (Appointments can be made up to 2 weeks in advance.) It is possible that there will be no available slots. If that is the case, you should try again the next day when more slots open up.  The schedule accurately reflects the number of slots we have and the number of staff we have to fill them.
  2. Once you have chosen an appointment time, you will be asked to fill out our LIHEAP application form. You need to fill out this form in order to keep your appointment time.
  3. Your appointment request will be reviewed to make sure you meet some minimum eligibility requirements. If you do not meet these requirements, your appointment will be canceled and you will be contacted to let you know.
  4. When you arrive for your appointment you need to have ALL of the required paperwork with you.
  5. As the schedule indicates, appointments are VERY tightly packed. For this reason, we need to cancel the appointment of anyone more than FIVE MINUTES LATE. If your appointment is cancelled, you will need to reschedule your appointment.

on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month

Season of Sharing

Season of Sharing supports individuals and families from Manatee County who are on the verge of homelessness to stay in their homes. Funds may be used for rent or mortgage, utility bills, child care, transportation, work tools or other crucial expenses.

Season of Sharing funds are considered assistance of last resort, and clients should only apply when there are no funds available from any other organizations. Recipients must either be employed or be able to show a source of income.
